If you would like your lab puppy to be already started, we offer a two-week program. Our program covers the ninth and tenth week of the puppy's life. The program supports the puppy's development through age appropriate training and socialisation. During this important stage of development, we lay the foundation for a great family member and competition dog. Puppy training is based on praise, fun, and treats. The puppy will learn to walk on a leash without pulling, to sit and to retrieve. Unwanted behavior like jumping up, nipping and chewing is discharged. At night, the puppy will stay in a puppy run with a puppy door and a crate. It will learn to go out to do his business as it pleases. The lab puppy also will be introduced to sleep in a crate. This setup makes the final house training a breeze. Usually puppies developed this way will house train in less than a week.
Puppies younger than 70 days prefer to be with their buddies. They like to learn social behavior with their puppy buddies though play-fighting, chasing and pupping toys. They interact with the humans in their environment, but that's not what they seek. But then, just around day 70 of their lives, something wonderful happens. The puppy will actively seek companionship with some other species, us humans. The following weeks of the puppy's development should be devoted to bonging. It's the time with his family. The puppy will bond with his family and be socialized with his living environment.
The cost for the Labrador Puppy head-start program is $55 per day.
Because of the time involved in training and caring for puppies, spaces for this program are limited.
